Atlas of Action – commissioned by Stockholm konst 2021.

Atlas of Action is a permanent collage using a freely associated version of a Rube Goldberg machine as its foundation. The artwork is a complex play with the “cause and effect” principle. The frieze stretches along the forty meter long facade and consists of colorful shapes and figures like pieces of the puzzle of human culture in a subtle interplay with each other. Here there are stone gargoyles, Picasso’s costumes for the Russian ballet, magnifying glasses, mill wheels and racing tires, amphorae and urns, geometric models, ritual dancers and more. Their balancing acts and interaction generate the kinetic energy that can be associated with a sports field as well as the constant movement of the road passing by the artwork.
